On November 4, 2026, Talkdesk published a survey of 1,048 US holiday shoppers and 312 retail decision-makers in which 74% of shoppers said they plan to use AI assistants for holiday shopping and 15% said they would let an AI agent use their payment details after a review step. On the same day, Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE) placed its CX Enterprise Coworker inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, Descope launched Envoy to give personal AI agents scoped identities on brand sites, Fingerprint added detection for three agents that conceal themselves, and Commerce.com (NASDAQ: CMRC) connected Feedonomics to Amazon’s Buy for me feature. The gap between the 74% who will ask an agent and the 15% who will let it pay is the distance the agentic commerce vendors releasing on November 4 sell tools to close.
The releases divide by which side of that gap the vendor sells to. Descope’s Envoy sells to the brand that wants to accept a shopper’s agent without handing it the stored card: scoped permissions, out-of-band phone approval for sensitive actions, and agent activity logged apart from the human account. Fingerprint sells to the brand that wants to know an agent is present at all; Fingerprint stated on November 4, 2026 that Meta’s Muse alters its browser fingerprint and suppresses automation flags, that Spear Street’s Instinct logs in with human credentials and requests SMS codes, and that xAI’s Grok Bot stopped signing requests with Web Bot Auth around October 9, 2026. A marketing team that has not asked its security team which agents reach the site cannot answer the Talkdesk disclosure question either; Talkdesk reported that 77% of shoppers want to know when AI is involved and 37% of retailers do not fully disclose it.
Adobe moves the agent in the other direction with its November 4 release, from the shopper’s assistant into the marketer’s. Adobe said CX Enterprise Coworker runs on Model Context Protocol (MCP) and A2A and ships pre-built connectors to Amazon Ads, Meta’s ads MCP server, Demandbase, Snowflake Cortex AI and Databricks Genie, which means a planner can ask Copilot or Claude for an audience forecast that reads from Adobe and writes toward an ad platform. Adobe disclosed no adoption numbers and no pricing. Rokt’s onX case from the same day gives a scale for what this looks like when it works: Rokt reported on November 4, 2026 that onX cut predictive attribute build time in its customer data platform (CDP) from two weeks to a month down to a day, with a marketer describing the prediction in plain language and approving the configuration. Rokt supplied that figure from one customer, and the dependency it removed was an external data team, so the savings land on whoever was paying for that team.
The approval step is the common design choice. Rokt’s agent configures and a person approves; Lorikeet’s Dreamweaver checks each outbound message against contact hours, limits and consent and runs a holdout group; Descope’s Envoy routes sensitive actions to a phone prompt; Dialpad and Ada, which announced on November 4, 2026 that they will merge around November 12, said existing contracts and pricing continue unchanged while the combined product starts in customer service and later expands to sales. Each of these puts a reviewer in the loop, and the reviewer’s capacity sets the throughput. A team that enables Adobe’s coworker in Copilot, Rokt’s agent in its CDP and Lorikeet’s account manager in support has created three approval queues, and someone has to own each one.
Magnite, Criteo, MNTN and AppLovin reported on November 4 where the money moved in Q3 2026 while that plumbing gets built. Magnite (NASDAQ: MGNI) reported connected TV (CTV) contribution ex-TAC up 39% to $105.4 million, now 53% of its total, and raised full-year 2026 guidance to about 17% growth. Criteo (NASDAQ: CRTO) reported revenue down 11% to $416 million and retail media network revenue down 23% to $51.9 million, which Criteo attributed to a $20 million scope change with two clients, while stating its ChatGPT ads offering is now live in 89 countries and announcing Performance CTV expansion to Brazil and Mexico by year-end. MNTN (NYSE: MNTN) grew revenue 15% to $80.3 million, cut full-year guidance to $311 million to $314 million, attributed the shortfall to go-to-market execution problems, and replaced its CEO. AppLovin (NASDAQ: APP) reported revenue up 55% to $2.19 billion at an 84% adjusted EBITDA margin. Attain’s native audiences in Amazon Ads DVA+ and Mediaocean’s Prisma Direct integration with Microsoft Advertising, both announced November 4, 2026, are the same kind of connective work on the buy side: fewer intermediaries between a planner’s order and the platform that fills it.
The decision for a marketing leader reading the November 4 releases is which of the three gaps to fund first: the identity gap on the storefront, where Descope and Fingerprint sell; the orchestration gap inside the stack, where Adobe, Rokt and Lorikeet sell; or the spend gap in CTV and AI search, where the public adtech results show budgets already moving. Talkdesk’s figure that 58% of retailers experienced an AI error in the past 12 months and 29% of those lost a customer argues for funding the review step before funding the next agent.
What these releases do not prove
Talkdesk commissioned its survey and Centiment fielded it in September 2026 among US respondents only; the 312 retail decision-makers were drawn from companies with 50 or more employees that already use AI, so the retailer-side figures describe adopters. Rokt’s day-versus-weeks figure comes from one customer, onX. Lorikeet’s 30% figure comes from one customer, PayJoy. Criteo’s 61x ROAS and 9% lower CPA come from one unnamed travel advertiser and compare against a display campaign Criteo did not describe. Nooks’ 3x pipeline, 96% unedited emails and up to 80% productivity figures are vendor-reported without methodology. Adobe published no adoption or usage figures for CX Enterprise Coworker inside the assistant platforms. Descope’s Envoy has no general availability date and its launch partners are described as refining the product over coming months. Fingerprint’s claims about how Muse, Instinct and Grok Bot behave are Fingerprint’s observations and the named agent vendors have not responded in the release. The Dialpad and Ada transaction has not closed and terms are undisclosed. The MNTN, AppLovin and Adobe releases were read from syndication or company newsrooms because the Business Wire canonicals did not load; figures match the issuer’s own publication. All performance claims above are vendor-sourced and unverified.
Strategic priorities for marketing leaders
- Ask your security team which AI agents currently reach your site and whether they are identified, using Fingerprint’s November 4, 2026 finding that Grok Bot stopped signing requests around October 9 and that Muse suppresses automation flags; you cannot write an agent disclosure policy for shoppers until you know who is at the door.
- Decide which scoped permissions a shopper’s personal agent gets on your storefront before a protocol decides for you; Descope’s Envoy and the Meta and Sierra Personal Agent Protocol draft 0.1 define the permission vocabulary, and Talkdesk’s 15% payment-consent figure sets the ceiling on what shoppers will allow today.
- Name an owner for each approval queue before enabling Adobe’s CX Enterprise Coworker in Copilot or Claude, Rokt’s mParticle Agent, or Lorikeet’s Dreamweaver; the reviewer’s calendar sets the throughput of all three.
- Request Adobe’s adoption and pricing figures for CX Enterprise Coworker in the assistant platforms before planning around it; the November 4 release carried neither.
- Compare Magnite’s 53% CTV share and Criteo’s 89-country ChatGPT ads footprint against your own channel mix; if your CTV and AI search lines are still rounding errors, the gap is between your plan and where sell-side revenue moved in Q3 2026.
- Submit products for Amazon’s Buy for me through the Feedonomics Shop Direct listing on a test catalog first and track whether Buy for me orders arrive with the customer service obligations Commerce.com says the brand retains.

Descope launches Envoy to give personal AI agents scoped identities on brand sites
Descope, the agentic identity platform, announced Envoy on November 4, 2026. Envoy lets a business accept a personal AI agent as a distinct identity with scoped permissions, so an agent can browse a catalog and place an order without access to stored payment methods, with out-of-band phone approvals for sensitive actions and agent activity logged separately from the human account for fraud and dispute handling. Descope said Envoy builds on the Meta and Sierra Personal Agent Protocol draft 0.1 published in October 2026 and that it released a zero-dependency TypeScript SDK for that protocol. The release cited Meta’s Muse passing 5 million downloads by the end of September 2026, OpenAI Instant Checkout reaching roughly 900 million weekly active users, and Amazon in September and JPMorgan Chase in October blocking outside agents. Descope named GoFundMe, You.com, GoodRx and Composio as launch partners and stated that partners will refine Envoy in the months ahead; Descope gave no pricing and no general availability date.

Fingerprint adds detection for Muse, Instinct and Grok Bot agents that conceal their identity
Fingerprint, the device intelligence platform, announced on November 4, 2026 that its bot detection now identifies three AI agents that operate without declaring themselves: Meta’s Muse, Spear Street’s Instinct and xAI’s Grok Bot. Fingerprint cited Cloudflare data that more than half of 2026 web traffic is non-human and its own finding that 79% of financial institutions have caught a malicious bot posing as an AI assistant. The detection labels traffic by agent name with high, medium or low confidence and is available now through the Fingerprint JS Agent, Server API, Rules Engine and Fingerprint MCP Server.
