When an AI agent does a piece of marketing work, what does the meter count? On October 22, 2026, six vendors gave six different answers. Kochava added per-user and per-team token budgets to the Enterprise tier of StationOne, its AI hub for marketers. ThoughtSpot launched AgentSpot and said it charges for neither tokens nor seats, billing only when an agent completes a conversation, a workflow run or an app session. Peec AI launched Peec Agent on a monthly credit allowance shared across each customer company. Disco launched Pre-Purchase, a Shopify checkout unit where an advertiser funds up to $30 in cash back and the merchant earns roughly $3.50 per eligible checkout. Sprinklr put its Voice of the Customer Agent Suite into Gemini Enterprise Agent Marketplace, and Quantum Metric made its MCP server generally available.

Kochava, the Sandpoint, Idaho measurement company, framed AI cost the way a media buyer frames spend. StationOne Enterprise now routes each AI request to the lowest-cost model it judges adequate for the task, lets admins set token or dollar budgets by user or team, shows each user what their tasks cost today and on a projected basis, and rolls usage up by business task. A new Audience Management Plugin runs deduplication, appends and segmentation in deterministic code, so audience files never pass through a model, and an embedded-model option runs compatible models on a user’s own machine. Founder and CEO Charles Manning said Kochava is giving enterprises “the same financial discipline over AI spend that they already apply to media spend.” The line item he is targeting is LLM tokens: every audience row pushed through a model is billed input. Kochava published no figures on how much routing or local execution reduces a team’s bill.

ThoughtSpot took the token line off the invoice. AgentSpot lets employees describe an agent, workflow or app in plain language and share it across the company, with four memory layers (company, agent, user and agent-user) and audit trails that log every agent action. ThoughtSpot bills per completed unit of work: a conversation, a workflow run or an app session. Building and testing are free, every plan includes unlimited users and agents, and a free plan carries a weekly usage allowance before a team moves to the paid Fleet tier. CEO Ketan Karkhanis said companies “gave every employee a chatbot and called it a strategy.” ThoughtSpot published no price per conversation or per workflow run, so a buyer cannot yet compare that meter against a token budget.

Peec AI, the Berlin AI search platform that says more than 3,500 companies use it, sells into the generative engine optimization (GEO) budget. Its expanded Actions feature ranks fixes on a five-level relative impact scale across technical issues, owned content, third-party mentions and inaccurate claims in AI answers, each with supporting evidence. Peec Agent traces visibility drops, drafts briefs and page edits, and connects to more than 25 tools, including Webflow, Contentful, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Notion and Linear. By default the agent asks for approval before it changes anything. Usage draws on a company-wide monthly credit allowance set by plan, with extra credit packs for sale. CEO Marius Meiners said “the decisions about how your brand is described should stay with your team.”

Disco moved commerce media into checkout itself. Pre-Purchase adds one line and one checkbox to a Shopify checkout and offers the shopper up to $30 back on the order in progress. The advertiser funds the reward, so the merchant keeps full order value. Disco says merchants earn roughly $3.50 per eligible checkout and that the unit has lifted conversion by 3% or more, while the release subhead cites pilot data at roughly 5% higher order conversion; Disco did not reconcile the two figures or publish pilot sample sizes. The format extends Disco’s commerce media network (CMN), which Disco says draws on more than 160 million shopper profiles and more than 1,000 advertisers. Merchants can run Pre-Purchase behind a holdout campaign to measure results on their own traffic. Onboarding is direct during launch, with self-serve in development.

Sprinklr (NYSE: CXM) and Quantum Metric moved their data to where agents already run. Sprinklr’s VOC Agent Suite reaches Gemini Enterprise users through Agent2Agent (A2A) connectivity and includes eight purpose-built agents for brand health, crisis monitoring, competitive benchmarking, trend forecasting, influencer and content strategy, campaign performance, customer experience analysis and general listening. Existing Sprinklr customers reach the suite through their authenticated Sprinklr environments, so voice of the customer (VoC) data stays under Sprinklr permissions while the question starts in Gemini. Quantum Metric, the Monument, Colorado experience analytics company, made its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server generally available with 46 defined tools for querying data, summarizing sessions, building funnels and running monitoring agents. Optimizely connected to the server, which now appears in the Optimizely directory.

The October 22 releases hand a chief marketing officer three meters to reconcile: tokens consumed, credits drawn and outcomes billed. Each one moves a different cost risk onto the buyer.

Model the checkout offer before you install it

Take a Shopify brand with 20,000 eligible checkouts a month and an $80 average order value, or $1.6 million in monthly checkout revenue. At Disco’s stated $3.50 per eligible checkout, Pre-Purchase pays that merchant $70,000 a month, or $840,000 a year.

If the 3% conversion lift holds, completed orders rise from 20,000 to 20,600 and revenue rises by $48,000 a month. If the extra line distracts shoppers and order completion falls 1%, the brand loses $16,000 a month, and the $70,000 in media revenue still covers the loss.

The harder exposure sits outside the spreadsheet. Every shopper who opts in meets another brand’s offer at the moment of purchase, and the claim process after purchase runs on the advertiser’s terms. A customer who never receives the $30 blames the store where they checked the box.

Run the holdout Disco supports. On these numbers, withholding the unit from 10% of checkouts costs $7,000 a month in forgone media revenue and gives you your own conversion figure to set against Disco’s 3% to 5% range. The traffic, order value and lift numbers here are illustrative assumptions; Disco has published no merchant-level results.

Read these numbers as vendor claims until your own data confirms them

Peec AI’s count of more than 3,500 companies is self-reported, and its five-level impact ratings are relative scores Peec assigns. Disco’s $3.50 per eligible checkout, 3% conversion lift and roughly 5% pilot conversion gain come from pilots with no published sample, duration or merchant mix, and its 160 million shopper profiles, $50 billion in historical transaction data and 1,000 advertisers describe Disco’s network as Disco reports it. Kochava published no savings figures for Auto Router, local models or the Audience Management Plugin. ThoughtSpot’s more than 1,000 customers is self-reported, and AgentSpot pricing per conversation, workflow run and app session is unpublished. Sprinklr’s 1,600 enterprises and 59% of the Fortune 100 are Sprinklr’s figures. The Quantum Metric details in this edition come from the GlobeNewswire release as syndicated by Manila Times TMT-Newswire, and Quantum Metric disclosed no deployment counts or pricing.

Set these priorities before your next AI contract renewal

Strategic priorities for marketing leaders:

  • Ask every agent vendor what the meter counts. Kochava budgets tokens, Peec sells credits and ThoughtSpot bills per conversation, workflow run and app session; get the unit price in writing for each.
  • Put spending ceilings on internal AI tools. Kochava’s per-user and per-team budgets show the control to require; set a monthly cap and an alert threshold for each team.
  • Keep bulk data out of the model. Kochava’s Audience Management Plugin runs segmentation in code; ask which of your agent workflows send full audience files through a model.
  • Test checkout media with a holdout. Disco supports a holdout on Pre-Purchase; run one for at least a full purchase cycle before you accept the conversion claim.
  • Keep approval gates on agents that edit owned content. Peec Agent asks for approval by default; confirm who on your team holds that approval and keep the default on.
  • Map where customer data leaves its home platform. Sprinklr through A2A and Quantum Metric through MCP both answer questions asked in other assistants; list which assistants can query them and under whose credentials.

So what does the meter count? On October 22, 2026, Kochava counted tokens, Peec counted credits, ThoughtSpot counted finished work and Disco paid merchants per checkout. Pull every AI contract signed this year, write down the billing unit for each one, and set a monthly ceiling against it before your 2027 budget locks.
