Treyci reported on September 3, 2026 that two AI engines, asked the same buying questions about the same brands in the same month, returned those brands in 81% of one engine’s answers and 43% of the other’s, drawn from more than 1,200 scored AI answers in a single B2B software category. Six other marketing technology and AI releases carried September 3, 2026 datelines. Comscore (Nasdaq: SCOR) extended its AI Intelligence product to measure sponsored chat advertising, Videowise launched an AI Visibility suite that restructures user generated video for large language models, Shirofune integrated its advertising automation platform with Google Campaign Manager 360, SuccessKPI shipped three AI capabilities for contact center quality management, Totaligent (OTCID: TGNT) published a white paper on marketing stack fragmentation, and Canva reported passing 100 Visual Suite upgrades since the start of 2026. Across the wires swept for September 4, 2026, no qualifying marketing technology or AI release carried that dateline.
Four of the seven releases sell you a way to see or shape where your brand sits inside an AI answer. Treyci sells the measurement. Comscore sells a different measurement. Videowise sells the formatting that feeds the answer. Totaligent sells the argument that your existing stack cannot support any of it. Each of the four counts a different thing, and no two of them produce a number you can put next to another vendor’s number and compare.
Treyci’s own release states the problem, and Treyci did not frame it that way. Treyci stated on September 3, 2026 that in one measured B2B software category, one AI engine referenced the tracked brands in 81 percent of its answers while another referenced the same brands in 43 percent, and described the two engines as ones buyers use interchangeably. Read that as a vendor claim about competitor engines and it is a sales argument for buying Treyci’s tracking. Read it as a measurement result and it says something harder: the quantity called AI visibility varies by roughly two to one depending on which engine you sample, in the same month, on the same prompts. A brand tracking one engine and reporting the result to a board has reported a number that a different sample would have halved.
Shirofune’s release from the same day shows what the settled version of this looks like in the channel marketers already run. Shirofune announced on September 3, 2026 that its platform now integrates with Google Campaign Manager 360, letting advertisers use Floodlight conversions as a single measurement metric across media managed through Shirofune, and letting the platform allocate budget and set bids across channels on Floodlight performance data. Floodlight is not a better metric than the platform-native conversion counts it replaces in that workflow. Floodlight is a common one. The industry spent years arriving at a shared conversion unit for paid media, and the value a media director gets from Shirofune’s integration comes entirely from that shared unit, not from any measurement innovation in the release. Nothing equivalent exists yet for generative engine optimization, and the September 3 releases show four vendors each proposing a different candidate.
Comscore proposed one of those candidates. Comscore announced on September 3, 2026 that Comscore AI Intelligence can now measure sponsored chat-based advertising and connect it to digital traffic, engagement and consumer behavior, and disclosed the finding behind the launch: in its analysis of hotel-related ChatGPT prompts with identified source links, sponsored-ad presence rose from 6% in March 2026 to 14% in April 2026 and 24% in May 2026. Comscore stated that its AI Intelligence data includes prompt and response pairs, cited domains, conversation identifiers and event timestamps. If that trajectory holds in other categories, the surface that organic AI visibility vendors sell you access to is filling with paid placements, and the conversational advertising line item you have not budgeted becomes a competitor to the visibility program you just bought.
Videowise proposed the third candidate, on the content side. Videowise, the video commerce platform used by more than 4,000 brands, announced AI Visibility on September 3, 2026, launching for Shopify brands and comprising an answer engine optimization product and a YouTube GEO product. Videowise stated that it extracts and analyzes audio and image frame by frame using vector video search, builds a wiki of questions and answers on the brand’s own store from real customer and creator videos, and generates YouTube videos with metadata written for large language models. The premise is that a brand’s user generated content library sits in formats AI engines do not read. Videowise reported that it drives 5% to 35% conversion uplift on average for direct-to-consumer brands and that Skullcandy saw a 7.9% increase in revenue per session using its UGC product, and attached no figure at all to the AI Visibility products shipping on the coverage day.
Work the arithmetic on what you would actually be buying. A direct-to-consumer brand doing $40 million in annual revenue allocates $250,000 to AI visibility for 2027. Split three ways across a tracking vendor, a content structuring vendor and an independent measurement partner, that is roughly $80,000 each, and the brand’s marketing director now holds three dashboards reporting three different quantities: citation share on a tracked prompt set, structured-content coverage against a question inventory, and sponsored-placement presence in the category. None of the three reconciles to the others. None reconciles to revenue without an attribution assumption nobody in the room can defend. The share of model number that goes in the board deck comes from whichever vendor’s dashboard the director opens first. The alternative is to buy one, instrument it against a fixed prompt set you write and own, and hold the second $170,000 until somebody publishes a methodology two vendors will both sign.
SuccessKPI put a different design principle on the wire the same day. SuccessKPI announced three AI capabilities for contact center quality management on September 3, 2026, addressing three activities its release names as the ones that stall quality review work: scoring rising call volumes, deciding what to listen for, and finding the interactions that need a person. SuccessKPI CEO Dave Rennyson stated that automated quality management is already widely used and that surfacing more data through it can overwhelm supervisors and executives. SuccessKPI stated that every AI output in the release carries its reasoning, that human overrides are recorded, and that the customer writes and edits the guidance shaping AI judgment. The human-in-the-loop design here has a specific commercial meaning: in a regulated sector, you can defend an AI-assisted quality score in an audit because you can produce the reasoning and the override record. Buyers evaluating AI visibility tools have no equivalent artifact to ask for.
Totaligent published the structural version of the same complaint. Totaligent released White Paper No. 1 in its Future of Enterprise Communications series on September 3, 2026, arguing that enterprise marketing software is resetting from a rented stack of disconnected tools to a unified communications operating system. Totaligent sourced its figures to third parties: the IAB/PwC Internet Advertising Revenue Report putting United States internet advertising at a record $294.6 billion in 2025 against typical on-site conversion under 3 percent, Scott Brinker and Frans Riemersma’s State of Martech 2026 counting 15,505 commercial marketing technology products after the first sub-1 percent net growth year in the landscape’s fifteen-year history, and Gartner’s 2025 Marketing Technology Survey finding marketers using about 49 percent of the capabilities they already pay for. Totaligent CEO Ted DeFeudis stated that marketing got more rented as it got more digital. A chief marketing officer reading the 49 percent figure and then reviewing a three-vendor AI visibility proposal is looking at the mechanism that produced it.
Canva supplied the consolidation counterargument with volume behind it. Canva announced on September 3, 2026 that its latest releases take the company past 100 upgrades to Docs, Presentations, Sheets, Whiteboards and Video since the start of 2026, a pace of nearly one Visual Suite upgrade every other day. Canva reported that more than 100 million people use Canva Presentations each month, that Canva Docs adoption has more than tripled over the past three years, that more than one billion designs are created on the platform every month, and that more than half of Visual Suite users work on mobile. Canva did not publish a revenue figure, a customer count for the specific features shipping, or any adoption data for individual upgrades. A marketing operations lead evaluating Canva against a specialist tool is comparing a shipping cadence against a capability list, and the release supplies the cadence.
What these releases do not prove
Every performance figure in the September 3, 2026 releases came from the company issuing it, and none of the seven published a methodology an outside reader can reproduce.
Treyci disclosed the sample size, more than 1,200 scored AI answers, and the result, 81 percent against 43 percent. Treyci did not name the two engines, did not name the B2B software category, did not disclose the prompt set, and did not publish its scoring rubric. A reader cannot tell whether the gap reflects engine behavior, prompt construction, or the brands Treyci happened to track.
Comscore’s 6 percent to 24 percent sponsored-placement trajectory covers hotel-related ChatGPT prompts with identified source links, one category on one platform over three months of 2026. Comscore published no prompt volume, no sampling frame, and no comparison category. Three data points do not establish a trend line, and Comscore sells the product that produces them.
Videowise supplied its 5% to 35% conversion uplift range and the Skullcandy 7.9% revenue-per-session figure from its own platform data, and both figures come from its existing shoppable video product. Videowise published no citation-rate, coverage or ranking data for the AI Visibility products announced on September 3, 2026.
Shirofune’s 13,000 accounts and 300,000 active campaigns are company-reported. Shirofune is the only one of the seven releases that publishes a price: 5 percent of monthly advertising spend managed through the platform.
SuccessKPI named no customer running the three new capabilities, published no accuracy or agreement rates against human scorers, and gave no availability date in the material reviewed.
Totaligent’s numbers all come from third parties, which raises the sourcing quality and leaves the product claim unsupported. Totaligent named no customer running the unified system the white paper argues for, and Totaligent trades over the counter.
Canva’s usage figures are company-reported and cover the platform, not the features announced. Counting 100 upgrades in eight months tells you about release velocity and nothing about whether any individual upgrade changed a workflow.
Strategic priorities for marketing leaders
- Own the prompt set before you buy the dashboard. Treyci’s September 3, 2026 finding of an 81 percent to 43 percent gap between two engines means the vendor that chooses your queries chooses your score. Write the prompt inventory internally, then ask each vendor to run it.
- Budget for paid placement in AI answers now. Comscore reported sponsored-ad presence in hotel-related ChatGPT prompts rising from 6% in March 2026 to 24% in May 2026. If your category follows, an organic visibility program alone will underperform against competitors buying the surface.
- Ask what each AI visibility number reconciles to. Citation share, structured-content coverage and sponsored presence are three different quantities. Pick the one you will report, and stop paying for the other two until somebody publishes a shared methodology.
- Demand the audit artifact. SuccessKPI ships reasoning traces, recorded overrides and customer-written guidance with its September 3, 2026 quality management release. Ask every AI vendor in your stack to produce the equivalent, and treat its absence as a finding.
- Run the 49 percent test on your own stack. Gartner’s 2025 Marketing Technology Survey, cited in Totaligent’s September 3, 2026 white paper, put capability utilization at about 49 percent. Pull your licenses, name the owner of each, and cancel the ones nobody can name.
- Separate shipping cadence from capability. Canva reported 100 Visual Suite upgrades since January 2026 and no adoption data for any of them. Score vendors on the features your team uses, not the features they ship.

What should marketing leaders do about the September 3, 2026 announcements?
Four of the seven releases dated September 3, 2026 sell a way to see or shape a brand’s position inside an AI answer, and each counts a different quantity: citation share, structured-content coverage, sponsored placement presence, and stack consolidation. Treyci’s 81 percent to 43 percent finding means the vendor that chooses the prompt set effectively chooses the score, so a marketing leader should write the prompt inventory internally before buying any dashboard. Comscore’s 6% to 24% sponsored-placement trajectory between March and May 2026 also argues for budgeting paid placement in AI answers alongside any organic visibility program.
