Brief history
Wrike was founded in 2006 by Andrew Filev with the goal of creating a more flexible and collaborative project management tool to help teams work more efficiently. The company steadily grew, securing multiple rounds of funding to expand its features and enterprise capabilities. A major milestone occurred in January 2021 when Citrix Systems announced it would acquire Wrike for $2.25 billion. In 2022, private equity firm Vista Equity Partners, along with Evergreen Coast Capital, acquired Citrix and merged it with TIBCO Software, placing Wrike under the new parent entity known as Cloud Software Group. Wrike continues to operate as a distinct business unit within this group.
