3rd party data

Definition

Third-party data is not directly collected or owned by your brand. It is data that an aggregator collects from various sources and sells as a package in order to augment an existing data set, or stand on its own.

Third party data may include anything from demographic, to contextual, to behavioral data.

Third party data is used heavily in advertising segmentation, and with data management platforms (DMPs).
