Sprint Goal (Scrum Elements)

Definition

The Sprint goal is how the common goal for the current Sprint is defined. While it contains many items, or tasks, from the Sprint backlog, the Sprint goal itself is the summary of them all.

The Sprint goal is often defined as descriptive prose, as opposed to a complex or technical language that might require understanding marketing jargon or software terminology. The purpose of writing the Sprint goal is to give the team a shared understanding of what should be accomplished within the iteration currently being worked on in the current Sprint, including the Sprint backlog.
