Key Features

CommerceIQ’s platform is built on a single source of data and intelligence, connecting three core automation modules:

  • Digital Shelf Optimization:
  • Search & Content: Tracks and optimizes product search rankings (Share of Voice), monitors content for compliance with retailer guidelines, and automates content updates.
  • Ratings & Reviews: Monitors and analyzes customer reviews to identify product or content improvement opportunities.
  • Price & Promotions: Monitors pricing against competitors and MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies.
  • Retail Media Management:
  • AI-Powered Automation: Automates bidding, keyword harvesting, and budget allocation for ad campaigns on platforms like Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, and Instacart Ads.
  • Full-Funnel Optimization: Connects advertising spend to digital shelf presence and inventory levels to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS) and prevent advertising on out-of-stock items.
  • Market Insights: Provides competitive intelligence on advertising strategies and share of voice.
  • Supply Chain Automation:
  • Demand Forecasting: Uses machine learning to predict future demand, helping to prevent stockouts and overstocks.
  • Purchase Order Automation: Automates the creation and management of purchase orders with retailers to ensure inventory availability.
  • Profitability Analysis: Identifies and helps resolve issues that impact profitability, such as unforeseen operational fees or chargebacks from retailers.

Brief history of the product

CommerceIQ was founded in 2012 by CEO Guru Hariharan, initially under the name Boomerang Commerce, with a focus on providing dynamic pricing solutions for retailers. Over time, the company pivoted to serve consumer brands, recognizing their immense challenge in managing the complex and interconnected variables of selling through online marketplaces. In 2019, the company rebranded to CommerceIQ to reflect its new mission of providing a comprehensive, AI-powered platform for retail ecommerce management.

A significant milestone was achieved in March 2022 when CommerceIQ raised a $115 million Series D funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, elevating the company’s valuation to over $1 billion and granting it “unicorn” status. Shortly after, in May 2022, CommerceIQ acquired e.fundamentals, a UK-based digital shelf analytics provider, to expand its global footprint and enhance its digital shelf optimization capabilities.
